Frequently Asked Questions
Bookings
We recommend choosing a time as early as possible in the day to maximize the chance that you jump. This is due to weather conditions changing during the day.
By law the minimum age to tandem skydive in Australia is 16 years old. If under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must be present on the day of the jump.
The weight surcharge is necessary as the more weight in the harness, the more stress it puts on the equipment requiring it to be maintained a lot more frequently. Skydiving is obviously a very physically demanding job for our Tandem Masters, a job which is made harder with every extra kilogram. Only certain highly experienced Tandem Masters are qualified and capable of taking customers over the 94kg threshold. If you exceed the Drop Zones safe maximum weight or if the Safety Officer believes you should not jump you may be eligible for a refund, or we will simply reschedule you to another day when weather conditions are more suitable.
Bookings can be made from one day before, to a maximum of six months in advance. In peak summer season one to two weeks advance notice is strongly recommended.
Email us at info@australiaexpert.nl we’ll try to work with you to find another date and time that works for your schedule.
Video & Photo Packages
- Our most popular package is the Handicam Video & Photo Package, which is $179 per person.
- Handicam photos only is $129 per person. All our dropzones offer this package.
- Dedicated photos and video is $269 per person and filmed by a separate skydiver or the Ultimate photos and video combining both dedicated outside camera and handicam technology, is $339 per person. Dedicated and ultimate cannot be booked in advance – only on the day of the skydive.
No, but photos and video can be purchased as ‘Extras’, or at the drop zone on the day. Once purchased, your photos and videos will be emailed straight to your inbox on the same day as your skydive. Trust us, you will want to share this with the whole world!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunately you cannot take your own Go-Pro with you on your skydive.
What To Wear
We recommend loose, casual clothing such as active wear, jeans or tracksuit pants. You must wear fully enclosed shoes, such as running or sports trainers. Hiking boots and high heels are not appropriate.
Please ensure you bring your own fleece/jumper and long pants, if it’s cold. If you’re jumping in the colder months, we recommend wearing gloves and very warm clothes as it can get quite chilly at 15,000ft!
We recommend removing any loose items before your skydive, including dentures or false teeth. If you have any questions at all, please ask our friendly staff when you arrive at the drop zone.
YES! We have goggles that will fit over your glasses/contacts, leaving you to take in those EPIC views. However please let your instructor know if you are wearing contact lenses.
Safety
Whilst we endeavour to complete your skydive within 3-4 hours, skydiving can be a full-day activity. Please allow for unforeseen delays due to events such as unfavourable weather and air traffic control.
Sorry, you’ll have to wait until bub is born before you can take to the skies. Skydiving is not safe if you are pregnant and we have a strict policy which does not allow anyone who is pregnant to skydive for your own safety.
No, you cannot. You must ensure you have not been scuba diving 24 hours prior to skydiving due to the change in altitude and pressure.
We do our best to get everyone skydiving, however, safety comes first. Each disability is different and for this reason you will require a medical certificate from your doctor stating it is safe for you to skydive. Our chief instructor will then also assess you before skydiving, the final decision is up to them and if they do not think it is safe you will not be able to skydive. You are welcome to be assessed before arriving on the day however please ensure you call on 1300 520 259 to check if there is someone at the office who is able to do the assessment.
It is important to inform us before booking if you have had any recent injuries or surgeries, restrictions on your physical ability or have any mobility issues at all. Please advise if you suffer from epilepsy or have any heart conditions. This may mean you cannot skydive. It is our obligation to inform you that if you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms or blocked sinuses on the day of your skydive, it may potentially lead to further health complications during or after your jump. We urge you to proceed with caution.
Yes you can but it’s really important you tell us so we can look after you and give you an alternative position during freefall.
